Rain and Lack

Sun shining on the fields and yards,
while hoping rain would long persist,
how steady on the wilting leaves,
the sunshine unremitting, kissed.

And, worrying, we anticipate,
the failing crops, world destitute,
of measures that applied too late,
leave human suffering acute.

Each cloud that comes in sight brings hope,
gathering will bring remedy,
that, multiplied, will change the scope,
of what the outcome now may be.

So, days all overcast and gray,
may be the powerful trend we seek;
crops we envision wasted away,
saved,let it come and rain all week.
