Merry Go Earth
As springtime sparked the buds to bloom,
where snowdrifts left the trickling trails,
the bubbling brooks urged marigolds,
manifest reflected sunshine's glow.
The subtle slopes around my home,
host a mosaic of myriad hues;
enter summer's sizzle, seize the heat,
abundant hay and waving grain.
Harvests to hungry mouths supply.
For souls who savor summer's heat,
and those who crave the cool relief,
seasons offer vast variety.
Move on, maintaining attitude,
rotation, planet dependable;
so spiral up bonfires' smoke,
leaves and snaps of charcoal sparks.
Simmering summer looking back:
late rose hosts sparkling frosty spears,
and round again the trusty world,
rolls through the carousel of years.
