Social Distance 2021
We've been isolated in our home;
it's been a while, hard to believe we're still,
staying in our place, don't like to be alone,
mandated, avoid contact if we won't or will.
Some do, and some do not observe the limit;
Have you ever seen four seasons last so long?
Until the remedy is found to end or dim it,
social distance and mask accompany virus song.
Service to alleviate shortages—a lot,
of the provisions necessary to maintain,
accommodating businesses, outdoors, food or shot,
so comfort, if not company, we may obtain.
Who'd believe it, as multiple months pass by,
what we hoped would be ingeniously stopped,
just goes on, as leaves change, snow fall or fly,
frustration and cabin fever more than topped.
When the day comes—can it really arrive?,
when we meet and eat and hug our dears?
Perhaps our gratitude will grow, glad to be alive,
and, even using a mask for a while—big cheers!
