Antidote For Ire
Wrap that rage up in a rag,
and throw it in the trash;
let that irksome ire lag,
in lively laughter splash.
Make up a silly, snappy pun;
pretend at a broad grin.
When the hilarious charade is done,
some sweetness may come in.
Why waste the way of joy away?
The loss may be your own.
No one can spoil a winsome day;
Join in; you're not alone.
Some sunshine spread, opposed to gloom,
one as the other contagious.
So bring your own into the room,
and find it is out "rage"ous.
