Resigning from Diminishing Returns

Let us now see the conclusion
of this effort, move, or act,
drifting to miry confusion,
missing many a vital fact.

Self esteem bears a contusion,
reason and logic sorely lacked;
emanating from delusion,
with misguided impulse wracked?

May it lapse in dissolution,
decline in vigor to enact;
let us avoid contribution,
to an outcome broken-backed.

.......or.............should we in renewed vigor,
move to change and to improve,
face each roadblock, trial and rigor,
revamp the calling that we love?
